Guitarist Magazine Reviews Sandi Thom’s 4th Album “Flesh and Blood”

Guitarist magazine have reviewed Sandi’s new album “Flesh and Blood” in their latest issue. Check out what they had to say about the record below:

Sandi Thom
Flesh and Blood

Scottish singer/guitarist’s gritty return impresses.
This follow-up to 2010′s impressive Merchants and Thieves was recorded in Nashville with Black Crowe Rich Robinson at the helm, and the hard-edged blues-rock you’d expect from such a union predominates.

Thom’s rich voice is a versatile instrument, and handles the gospel inflections of Flesh and Blood as effortlessly as it does the emotionally charged country balladeering of Sun Comes Crashing Down.

The Clavinet-fuelled Stormy Weather (no, not a version of that song, thank god) channels Stevie Wonder, the showpiece acoustic duet with Buffy Sainte-Marie delivers its medicine with a spoonful of honey, and the record’s flourishes of tasteful yet forceful guitar emboss a fiery, emotionally charged set of songs.
Standout Track: Rise as One
For Fans Of: Stevie Nicks, Susan Tedeschi, Kt Tunstall
