So who watched the x factor!?! You know I did. Wow!!! What a nail biter! I'm so chuffed that alexandra won! She's such a great british talent and omg I was so overwhelmed by her performance with beyonce! I had the kleenex out I tell ya! Beyonce's such an amazing woman and I can only imagine how alex felt to be standing next to her on stage! I had a lump in my throat for her! Yip she deserved to win that hands down!! So my fingers getting better, for those of you that haven't heard, my scared little kitty bit me the other night and it got infected! Swelled up like a balloon but I got penicillin from the doc and its gettin better, hooray. Anyhow time to get off and do some work. Really excited about the tour...won't reveal my special guests just yet but I can tell ya they're very special!!! Big love xxx
A case in point is the announcemen on the internet t by Dundee SNP office that many of the dates on the tour are now sold out meaning potential concert goers wont bother trying for tickets, The tour is being hijacked for political reasons and even though i support the politics i think Sandi really needs to step back from their meddling.
I think though that this year most Scottish singers are getting involved in the Burns 250th anniversary. After that everything should return to normal.
Im all for any age enjoying loud music so maybe i put that across wrong, so sorry , but, Sandis last album showed her with an electric guitar and a great attitude on the front of it, Suddenly she is singing Ballads and in front of pipe bands, whats that all about? KT and Amy arent suddenly donning tartan and giving it "was like us" they are young vibrant Scots who dont need to fall back on the cliches of our country and niether does Sandii, she is way above that sort of nonsense but certain elements are encouriging her to do exactly that, and i have to say that yes i am indeed a proud Scot with the same politics but id hate to see Sandi Thom become labelled with the title of "Scottish nationalist singer" instead of "Amazing Scottish singer" which is whats begining to happen unfortunately
Hey, don't think everyone over 30 doesn't appreciate good loud music. I just turned 59 and saw Sandi three times this year.
I think the pipe band is for the New Year celebrations. Though it's nice to experiment. Kate Rusby sometimes adds a brass band to some songs and it sounds superb.
Im looking forward to Glasgow but please please dont let the special guests be a pipe band of any description, Im coming along to hear Sandi Thom songs done with electric guitar and a band not a céilidh. Your far to young to be portrayed as the Moira Anderson of the new millenium but it seems your friend Alex is encouraging you to sell yourself as Scots first and an artist second, Its the other way around Sandi. Please dont box yourself into being seen as the girls that sings Scots tunes, Yours are much better and appeal to a younger audience and thats how it should be. Pipe bands are cool, ive nothing against them but we need young vibrant artists who appreciate the past but dont fall back on cliched tweed and tartan and shortbread attittudes and emotional singalongs with pipers to represent the new scotland. it should be about plugging in ,turning up, and blasting the sound out for everyone to hear, well everyone under 30 anyways! Dont get old before your time sandi and stop hanging around with old politicians, get back out there and party like a young girl of your age should be doing
