Aussie Jetlag

hay ho y'all, sorry its been a few days I'm out here in Australia doing promo for The Pink and the Lily so my timing's are all over the place, its 5.30am here and i'm writing my blog!! I've also been out here attending the Sydney Song Summit.

It was a hell of a journey getting here, two stop over's in Bangkok and Dubai so i got stuck into the Jack and Coke and that certainly helped me along the way!

I got here on Monday and since then its been an enslaught of media incuding Fox TV, ABC TV, MCM TV about a million Aussie radio stations such as Nova and The Edge which to all you fans out in Oz you'll be very familiar with, so be expecting to hear and see alot of me in OZ this next coming month!!

Anyway's I love Australia but I'm desperate to come home, I'm really missing everyone back home, the only thing i'm not missing is the weather!! Cos its lovely out here!!

I've been taking part in the Sydney Song Summit over the last few days which is basically a convention about songwriting, i've been taking Seminars and doing performances for youngsters. Its been really great and I've actually learnt alot myself. 

Last night I went to dinner with some absolute legends of the Songwriting world including James Mercer who is the frontman of the band "The Shins, Ralph Murphy who has had more than 20 number one records in the last 40 years, thats a hit every 2 years!! I was also at the table with Songwriting legend Jimmy Webb who wrote Wichita Lineman!!! He also wrote "up, up and away" and Macarthur Park to name but a few, I'd imagine that alot of you won't know these songs so let just say they're all Grammy award winning songwriters!! Lastly I couldn't believe I was sat with the man who wrote The Carpenters massive hit "we've only just begun" what a legend!! His name is Paul Williams and he's also penned hits for ELVIS, Frank Sinatra, Barbara Stresiand, Ella Fitzgerald, Ray Charles and David Bowie!!!!!!!!!!!!

Oh my God can you imagine working with those people, thats like a dream to me!!

It was a very priviliged moment for me to be sat with songwriters of their success. I even got some very valuable advice about penning hits which I will keep firmly close to my chest!!!!

Its also a massive compliment to me to be asked to take part in this event as a songwriter when i'm keeping such fantastic company!!

Anyway's y'all I leave tomorrow to come back to the Uk then I'll be off on a tour of Uk radio stations on Thursday so where ever you are in the country i'll be there performing my new single "The Devils Beat"!!!
